Textron Inc. Q3 Earnings Fall 6%

Textron Inc. (TXT) released a profit for third quarter that decreased from last year.

The company said its earnings came in at $166 million, or $0.61 per share. This was down from $176 million, or $0.63 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.67 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 2.2% to $3.25 billion. This was up from $3.18 billion last year.
