Woman rescued from drain pipe in Greenwood, north of Perth

A WOMAN has been rescued after becoming stuck in a storm drain pipe in Greenwood on Thursday afternoon.

Four crews from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services plus three specialist officers were called in to rescue the woman from the drain on Warwick Road near Coolibah Drive.

Police were initially called just before 1.30pm and the woman was finally freed from the confined space more than an hour later.

A DFES spokeswoman said the drain was about 10-12m deep.

It is understood the woman was not injured.
