According to the police, the arrested threatened the complainant that they would obstruct the construction of a building at the land owned by Mehroof if they are not paid money. As per the complaint, the accused gang allegedly approached the complainant twice. The first visit was on October 15 and Rs 50,000 was demanded from him . The complainant claimed that he settled the issue by paying Rs 5,000. However, the gang allegedly approached the man again on Tuesday and demanded 2 lakhs.
