SHIMLA: The Congress will hold the extended General House of the HPCC here on October 24 in the presence of AICC general secretary Ambika Soni and all senior leaders from the state.

The Congress will hold the extended General House of the HPCC here on October 24 in the presence of AICC general secretary Ambika Soni and all senior leaders from the state.

Following the BJP’s impressive rally at Mandi, the Congress has also decided to prepare its road map for the Assembly polls due next year. All senior leaders, including Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, former Union Minister and MP Anand Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP Viplove Thakur, all other former state presidents, ministers and MLAs, have been asked to be present at the meeting.

“We will gear up our cadres for the Assembly elections and launch Congress Vikas Yatras in all the 3,243 panchayats, 52 nagar panchayats and parishads and 251 zila parishad wards,” said HPCC president Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. He said the workers will by mobilized to reach out to people right at the grassroots so that they can be made aware of the welfare schemes and other development projects undertaken by the state government.

He said Rahul Gandhi will also visit the state so that the party cadres can be geared up. “The Congress will chalk out its strategy for the next elections and the two-day extended general house will be attended by the CM, MPs, ministers, MLAs and all senior leaders, besides office-bearers of all front organizations and various cells,” said Sukhu. — TNS
