J-K students visit ARTRAC

SHIMLA: As many as 20 students from Bal Ashram, Pinzur, and other schools from Shopian, who are on a national integration tour, visited the headquarters of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) here today.

As many as 20 students from Bal Ashram, Pinzur, and other schools from Shopian, who are on a national integration tour, visited the headquarters of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) here today.

The students belong to the strife-torn Shopian in the Kashmir Valley. The purpose of the tour is to bring students into the mainstream by exposing them to the culture and heritage of India and the development in peaceful areas.

Lt Gen Raman Dhawan, Chief of the Staff, ARTRAC, interacted with the students and they were also exposed to the Army and its way of life. The children also visited the Army Heritage Museum in Shimla which illustrates accomplishments of the Army. They also visited fruit processing factory, Navbahar, and State Museum, Shimla.
