Katra, October 19

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital near Katra in Jammu rolled out a 24x7 free trauma ambulance service.

The service was launched on the occasion of World Trauma Day observed on October 17. The ambulance will be stationed at Kalika Dham railway station, according to an official release from the hospital.

Jammu has long suffered a lack of properly established and coordinated trauma and ambulance services that can come to prompt assistance of road traffic accident victims and other casualties which require immediate medical assistance. It was observed that casualties were rising in the area and there were not many ambulances that operated with full-fledged team and emergency support devices. Hence, the hospital encouraged the acquisition of emergency and trauma-care ambulance to provide timely care and treatment to the needy.
