RIGA (Sputnik) — He added that Latvia was expected to allocate about 450 million euro, or 1.7 percent of the country's GDP on defense spending.
"Riga's air defense system will cost 150 million euro," Garisons said, speaking at the Latvian parliament, the Saeima.
Latvia has been a member of NATO since 2004. In line with the alliance's requirements the Baltic nation should allocate 2 percent of its GDP on defense.
