A man allegedly burnt his wife and two children to death after an altercation at his home in Tektar Muslim Tola village in Darbhanga district on Wednesday.
The accused, identified as Mohammed Harun, is on the run.
The deceased were identified as Rukhshana Khatoon (22), son Dilshad (4) and daughter Ena (2). They were reportedly set on fire inside a room, which was bolted from outside.
Darbhanga Additional Superintendent of Police Dilnawaz Ahmad said: “Harun burnt his wife and two children alive after an argument over some petty issue with his wife. They used to quarrel a lot but he would take such an extreme step was beyond anyone’s thought”.
“A case of murder was registered against Harun who is absconding. Raids are being conducted to nab him,” the ASP said.
