Minor detained for vehicle thefts

The Bharati Vidyapeeth police have detained a minor boy for allegedly stealing motorcycles from the various parts of the city. The police have recovered six stolen motorcycles from the possession of the suspects.

PUNE : The Bharati Vidyapeeth police have detained a minor boy for allegedly stealing motorcycles from the various parts of the city. The police have recovered six stolen motorcycles from the possession of the suspects.
The Bharati Vidyapeeth police team led by senior inspector Vijaysinh Gaikwad detained the boy on a tip-off. The value of the stolen motorcycles is worth Rs 1.95 lakh, Gaikwad said.
Gaikwad said that police constables Samir Bagsiraj and Baba Narale has received a tip-off that one boy had stolen a motorcycle about two days ago and he had come near Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park in Katraj on that motorcycle.
“Our team laid a trap there and took the boy into custody,” Gaikwad said.
During the questioning the boy revealed that he had stolen the motorcycle by using a duplicate key. “The boy also admitted that he had stolen five more motorcycles from the different parts of the city,”the boy was fond of riding motorcycles, Gaikwad said.
“He used to steal the motorcycles from the parking lots for the joy rides. Once the fuel tank got dried, the boy used to abandon the motorcycle,” Gaikwad said.
Gaiwkad said that the police have recovered six motorcycles ,Our probe is on.
The investigating team comprised sub-insepctor Uttam Budgude, police constables Pradip Gurav, Vinay Bhandalkar and Ganesh Sutar.
