Former Ireland scrum half Tomás O'Leary has signed for Top 14 side Montpellier as a 'medical joker.'
Local newspaper Midi Libre reported yesterday that a deal had been agreed, and now it has been confirmed.
O'Leary has been included in the French club's Champions Cup squad, and will act as a replacement for Benoit Paillaugue, who is out for four months with injury.
In accordance with ERC rules, each club can sign three additional players during the pool stage.
The move brings an end to the 32-year-old's second spell at Munster, which was plagued by injury, and the Corkman has figured twice this season for Munster off the bench.
O'Leary had been left out of Munster's European squad, and hasn't played for Ireland since 2012.
Montpellier will host Leinster in Pool Four of the Champions Cup on Sunday.
