Vidya's 'Begum Jaan' release date postponed

Knowing that January releases generally have a poor run, Vidya Balan's film 'Begum Jaan' which was earlier releasing in January 2017, will now release in March 2017. A source said, "The new date is doubly special as it coincides with the 5-year anniversary of 'Kahaani', Vidya's second big hit after 'The Dirty Picture'.
Also, Sujoy Ghosh's 'Kahaani' was based in Kolkata, 'Begum Jaan' is an official adaptation of Srijit Mukherji's Bengali film 'Rajkahini'.
'Begum Jaan' is releasing a week after Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt-starrer 'Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya' (March 10) and a couple of weeks before Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh's 'Phillauri '(March 31).
