SAD forced industry out: Captain Amarinder Singh

BATHINDA/FARIDKOT: Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh reached Bathinda on the second day of his party's `Kisan Yatra' on Tuesday. In his address to a gathing, he accused chief minister (CM) Parkash Singh Badal of formulating “wrong policies“ that forced industries to flee the state.
He promised to bring about “sweeping changes“ in Punjab's industrial policies to revive sick units and also reiterated his commitment to do everything to alleviate the sufferings of farmers in the state.

The former CM said, once in power, he would take immediate steps to incentivize the industries in line with the concessions being provided to attract industrial development in other states like Gujarat.
“Industries in Punjab had been forced to flee the state as a result of the unfriendly policies of the SADBJP government. These were in complete contrast to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's much-hyped `Make in India' campaign,“ Amarinder said.
The Amritsar MP said neither the farming community nor the industries were flourishing under the Badal regime and it would be his priority to bring growth back on track in Punjab.
Earlier, Amarinder met farmers and widows of farmers who had committed suicide due to debt at Faridkot.
As widows of farmers narrated their woes, Amarinder filled up and signed their loan waiver forms.
He said farmers had complained that their paddy was not being lifted from the grain markets and it was being purchased below the minimum support price (MSP).
