Jagan Mohan Reddy to visit Aqua Park today

YSRC president will meet persons who are in remand at the sub-jail in Tanuku.

Kakinada/Bhimavaram: Tension gripped villages near the Godavari Mega Aqua Food Park at Thunduru village near Bhimavaram as groups supporting the park and opposing it are getting ready to present their cases before YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy who is visiting the area on October 19. Mr Jagan will meet persons who are in remand at the sub-jail at Tanuku by 11 am and visit Thunduru village by 12 pm. He will interact with the people in Kamsali-Bethapudi village by 2.30 pm.

Former MLAs M. Prasada Raju and G. Srinivas visited the villages on Tuesday and discussed arrangements for Jagan’s visit. Meanwhile, some YSRC workers put up “Jagan Flex boards”, opposing the Aqua Food Park. But, pro-group activists who want the park are opposing the flexies. Pro-group activists found fault with Mr Jagan for meeting the accused who attacked them.

“We believed Jagan. But, we got information that he would meet the accused who are in remand at the sub-jail. But, he (Jagan) would not take care of our people who are in hospital with severe injuries,” said Mr Mahina-Bathula Moses, the convener of the Mega Food Park Protection Committee. He said the accused attacked Dalits and they are trying to prevent them from doing their jobs in the park. “We strongly support the YSRC and Mr Jagan and we Dalits voted for him. If Jagan opposes the food park and support the agitators we would resign from the party,” he warned. He said that many poor families were going to the Gulf. But, after establishment of the food park migrations have stopped, he said.

Meanwhile, former Narasapuram MLA M. Prasada Raju said that YSRC was not opposing the food park. But, the party was of the opinion that shifting the park 10 km towards the sea from the existing place would save the villages from pollution. He said that Mr Jagan would meet the injured people who were attacked.
