Nicki Minaj Clarifies Her Statements on Kanye West's 'Gold Digger' Line
Nicki Minaj made headlines recently when she called out Kanye West for his “Gold Digger” lyrics, targeting the line, “When he get on, he’ll leave your a** for a white girl.”
While she had a point and he actually did live out those lyrics by marrying Kim Kardashian, Minaj is now backtracking a bit, taking to Twitter to clarify what she was saying.
Responding to Cosmopolitan's assertion that Nicki “slammed” ‘Ye for the lyrics, Nicki tweeted, “‘Slams’ a man/genius who gave me one of the biggest looks of my career? I said he wasn't kidding, he was speaking the TRUTH about d industry.”
Then when a Twitter user said they were glad Nicki Minaj was trying to dead dissension between the two music superstars, Nicki further explained.
“I was saying he's the one who said it first,” she wrote. “He doesn't apologize for his choices. He tells the truth about stuff ppl don't wanna hear!”
Sounds like this possible beef has been avoided, but you never know with ‘Ye. Check out Nicki Minaj’s clarification below.
