Play titled 'Isha Rumi - Beyond Form' performed in Pune
PUNE: Inspired by Yogi Sri M, city-based Kaveri Kalashetra in association with Sunaad, a group from Bengaluru will be organising an exclusive theatrical performance titled as 'Isha Rumi - Beyond Form' in the city. The play is a theatrical juxtaposition of Ishavasya Upanishad and Masnavi of Jalaluddin Rumi. It is scheduled on October 22 at 6 pm at Shakuntala Shetty Auditorium, Kalmadi Shamarao High School, Ganesh Nagar.

A statement issued by Kaveri Kalashetra stated that, Isha Rumi - Beyond Form is a presentation of two ancient texts. The Ishavasya Upanishad and the Masnavi by the Sufi poet Jalaluddin Rumi. It highlights the resonance between the two texts through music, drama and dance. Eighteen Sanskrit shlokas and ten Persian verses are sung by the members of Sunaad during this program. Conceptualized by noted vocalist Tara Kini under the guidance of yogi Sri M, this play also makes the texts accessible to an English speaking audience. The unique musical composition of this play in Dhrupad form has been done by renowned Gundecha Brothers.
The statement further added, Kaveri Kalakshetra is the cultural organization of Kaveri Group of Institutes which aims to promote the arts with special focus on school children and youth while Sunaad is an eclectic group of singers from Bangalore city composed of the school-going and retired, professional performers and hobbyists, home makers and working professionals, all of whom share a common passion - love for Hindustani classical music.
