Workers at Belgian wire producer Bekaert’s Turkish subsidiary in Izmit have started to reduce production after failing to reach a collective labor agreement. During the night shift on October 16, workers reduced production by 50 percent and will continue to reduce output by different percentages in each shift.
The collective labor agreement negotiations affecting 400 workers started on August 25.
