Software Studio TWG Announces Acquisition of B House to Accelerate Mobile Growth

Company's first acquisition brings headcount to 85, doubling in the last two years

TORONTO, Oct. 18, 2016 /CNW/ - TWG, a leading North American software studio dedicated to transforming the way organizations design, develop and utilize software, today announced its acquisition of B House, a mobile development company based in Toronto. This is TWG's first acquisition and it marks a period of explosive growth at the company, which has doubled in size in the last two years.

TWG works with clients including Wealthsimple, FreshBooks, The Globe and Mail, and RBC, and specializes in Lean Product Management, Human Centered Design and Agile Development. The B House acquisition bolsters the company's mobile capabilities, supporting its strategy to lead enterprise clients through digital transformation initiatives. B House was founded by Megha and Satraj Bambra in 2014, and has helped companies like BlogTO, Sensibill, and Slyce create mobile apps, SDKs and platforms.

"B House's obsession with product quality and software craftsmanship resonates strongly at TWG, giving us immediate confidence that this will be a long-term success for us and our clients," said Andrés Aquino, Mnaging Partner, TWG. "We aspire to build the most elite mobile shop in North America, and we're proud to welcome B House into the fold as we continue to grow our reputation for mobile product development."

"We could not be more thrilled to join TWG. We get to continue building world class mobile software for our customers, alongside a very smart bunch of peers, on a much larger platform," said Megha Bambra, co-founder, B House.

The acquisition signals TWG's intent to continue its expansion, bringing its total team size to 85. The team has also made a commitment to diversity, partnering with TechGirls Canada, and increasing the ratio of female staff to 36%, up from 15.5% in 2015. The B House founders and team will join TWG in its Toronto office, which recently expanded to almost 20,000 square feet and also houses seed fund and startup accelerator 500 Startups, startup Sampler, and portfolio company Nudge Rewards.

"This expansion increases our capacity to deliver outstanding mobile work for our clients and allows us to further focus on teaching organizations the best ways to utilize software," said Chris Eben, Managing Partner, TWG.
