PUNE: The code of conduct for
elections in 10
municipal councils in Pune district came into force on Monday.
The
polling is scheduled on December 14 while counting will be a day later.
Baramati, Lonavla, Daund, Talegaon Dabhade, Saswad, Alandi, Indapur, Jejuri, Junnar and
Shirur will hold elections.
The district administration on Monday said the code of conduct was in force with immediate effect.
The administration has increased vigil to keep check on illegal activities. Surveillance teams and flying squads have been established while check posts have come up in every council to ensure strict implementation of the code.
