Class XII marks to be raised for NIT seats

New Delhi: The HRD Ministry has asked the Central Seat Allocation Board to bring the admissions to National Institutes of Technology (NITs) on par with IITs by raising Class XII marks criterion, ministry sources said.



New Delhi: The HRD Ministry has asked the Central Seat Allocation Board to bring the admissions to National Institutes of Technology (NITs) on par with IITs by raising Class XII marks criterion, ministry sources said. At present, a general category student has to score at least 70% in Class XII to be eligible for admission to NITs, while for the IITs it is 75%. A reserved category student has to get at least 65% to secure admission to the NIT and for the IITs 70%. TNs
