Commuters faced a harrowing time as the busy Hazratganj crossing witnessed traffic jam for three hours from noon to 3pm following protest by temporary teachers on Monday.

Lucknow: Commuters faced a harrowing time as the busy Hazratganj crossing witnessed traffic jam for three hours from noon to 3pm following protest by temporary teachers on Monday. All major routes KD Singh Babu stadium, Ashok Marg, Rana Pratap Marg and Vikramaditya Marg witnessed massive snarls.
School buses were stranded for two hours in the jam on Vidhan Sabha Marg. "I was coming from Ashok Marg which was jammed and then decided to take a turn towards Rana Pratap Marg which was also congested, so it took me three hours to reach Charbagh " said Ambrish Singh, who had gone to receive a relative at Charbagh.

Delivery boy Punit Kakkar had to deliver a parcel at Lalbagh. "I had to remain standing in the traffic for hours with this heavy bag," he said. "No traffic cop was managing traffic and all barricades on Mahatma Gandhi Marg were broken with people overstepping them and causing a gridlock," said Usha Singh, a shopper.
Situation worsened when police began dispersing mob with lathicharge. Many students were tormented with this sudden use of force. by and rushed for safer spots, even city buses and other means of transportation came to a standstill causing disruption in movement of traffic.
