Chicago Companies Conquer the Fit Company Challenge and Promote Employee Wellness
Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) October 17, 2016 -- On October 1, 2016 participants from companies located in the Chicago area took part in the Fit Company Challenge, a corporate wellness event hosted by the Fit Company Institute providing area companies an opportunity to show the importance of living a fit and healthy lifestyle. Participants came out in full despite heavy rain and worked in teams of 3 to 4 to conquer a variety of fitness stations tailored to challenge the team member’s current fitness level and earn points towards their company’s overall score.
In their first time participating Crowe Horwath LLP took the top spot in the Large Team division. “Training for and partaking in the Fit Company Challenge was a great way to get and keep in shape,” said Jenna El-Khalili, Team Captain for Crowe Horwath LLP. “We had a blast competing in the challenges, the energy and team spirit were the main reasons for our success.”
In their 2nd time participating, Hendrickson USA defended their win from 2015 and took the top spot in the Medium Team division. “The Hendrickson employees loved competing in this incredible event for the second year in a row," said team captain Liz Urban. "Our company is committed to fostering a culture of wellness and this event is a great way for us to emphasize the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Our employees love the encouraging, competitive aspect of the challenge and it is directly related to how well organized the event is.”
On event date, with the help of over 30 volunteers assisting the contenders, participants challenged their strength, conditioning, power, agility, and ended with a test of endurance in order to show their companies and colleagues that they practice what they preach. Participants used their involvement to bring out company team members, and family members to cheer them on and promote the importance of having fun and effective corporate wellness programs at their companies.
The challenge was held at Cricket Hill, located on the North end of Lincoln Park in downtown Chicago, Illinois.
