Karnataka president for the
BJP SC Morcha, DS Veeraiah paid a visit to former minister
Srinivasa Prasad here on Sunday. Prasad, who lost his ministership in the aftermath of chief minister Siddaramaiah's cabinet reshuffle in June, is expected to tender his resignation to the post of MLA on Monday.
Following his meeting with Prasad, Veeraiah said, "Srinivasa
Prasad doesn't belong to any particular community or state.
He's a mass lea der, a national leader. I came to meet him at the behest of our senior party leader, and invite him to join the BJP. The state party president BS Yeddyurappa has already spoken to Prasad. We believe that Prasad will furthe r strengthen our party."
Prasad said, "I will tender my resignation to assembly speaker KB Koliwad at 12pm on Monday. I have friends in all parties; Yeddyurappa has asked me to join the BJP. I will decide only after holding consultations with my supporters and well-wishers." tnn
