Four arrested for stealing copper plates

Four casual labourers were arrested by Makarpura police on Saturday for stealing copper plates from the premises of Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) in Jambuva.

VADODARA: Four casual labourers were arrested by Makarpura police on Saturday for stealing copper plates from the premises of Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) in Jambuva.
The accused, Ketan Tadvi, Sanjay Parmar, Jagdish Baria and Hukumsinh Rajput, had stolen the copper plates more than a month ago from the GEB premises.
The cops said that they had received a tip-off that Tadvi and Parmar were coming near Jambuva bridge on Saturday to sell the stolen plates.
The police had kept a watch on the basis of information and nabbed the duo from the area.
During interrogation, they admitted to the crime and revealed the names of Baria and Rajput, who were picked up from their houses in Manjalpur.
Tadvi and Rajput have been involved in vehicle theft also earlier. The police recovered copper plates worth Rs 27,000 from them. tnn
This is second incident in last two days where Makarpura police has made arrests in connection with theft in industrial complexes in the area. On Friday, Vijay Chavda, an employee of Electrical Research and Development Association (ERDA), was arrested for stealing copper cables worth Rs 20,000 from ERDA office.
