A hotel owner was assaulted by autorickshaw drivers over a parking dispute near Mother Dairy Cross in Yelahanka New Town on Friday night. The incident came to light on Sunday.

According to the police, Purandar Naidu, 42, the manager of Udupi Grand Hotel, had parked his bike at an autorickshaw stand. In his complaint to the police, he alleged that the auto drivers picked a fight with him and even snatched his gold chain.

In a counter-complaint, Manjunath, an auto driver, claimed that Naidu blocked the way for the autorickshaws by parking his bike which inconvenienced the drivers. Naidu and his staff abused the drivers and assaulted them. The police said the drivers returned Naidu’s chain on Friday night. The entire incident was captured by the CCTV installed at the hotel. The police are verifying the footage.
