NOIDA: Almost 70% of the district's doctor's are not registered and between 20-25 such doctors are operating in an unauthorized manner in every village, according to the health department.
Officials said that on an average, every village of the district will have at least 20-25 doctors working without registration. Roughly, 70 % of the doctors do not have the mandatory registration from the department, they said.
The department has decided to take action against such doctors, which they say are operating in both rural areas of Greater Noida as well as urbane Noida.

“There are many doctors who not registered with the department. Some are working without registration at all, some with the degrees likeBachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery (BUMS) but have not taken the mandatory registration from the department,” Chief medical Officer (CMO) Dr Subhash Gupta told TOI.
According to the department, every doctor needs a mandatory registration from the department even if one has taken transfer from a particular district and has started practising afresh in another area.
In different raids launched by the department officials, as many as 8 of them were caught practising without any authorisation from Rabupura area during the past week. Officials say they will intensify their action against such doctors.

Recently, the death of a B.Tech final year student in Dalelgarh area of Dankaur police station area had brought to light the menace, which such doctors pose to patients, following which the department had decided to start taking action against such doctors.
Pantu (21), a resident of Baagpur village and a student of a private college in Greater Noida, was suffering from flu and cough, after which he took medicine from an unauthorised doctor of the same area.
According to Rajpal, Pantu’s father, he was administered upon an injection by the doctor after which his situation deteriorated and he was later taken to a private hospital of Greater Noida.
The family gave a complaint in the matter to the Dankaur police station after which the doctor fled from Dalelgarh village.
“We have taken note of such complaints and it is very clear that there are between 1000-1500 doctors which are working without any registration in the district. This is not just in the rural belt but also in urbane Noida,” Gupta said.
