Ogier claims four-in-a-row of WRC crowns

Sebastien Ogier claimed a fourth successive World Rally Championship title with victory in Spain, where Craig Breen finished 10th.

The 32-year-old Frenchman beat local hopeful Dani Sordo by 15.6 seconds to clinch the title with two races to spare.

"It's fantastic to take the championship two rallies before the end of the season, I couldn't do much more," Ogier told wrc.com.

"I had so much fun behind the steering wheel this weekend. Joining the list of big names who are four-time title winners is just amazing."

Ogier joins fellow Frenchman Sebastien Loeb and Finnish duo Tommi Makinen and Juha Kankkunen as the only drivers to have won the title four times.

Loeb won the nine world titles previous to Ogier's run meaning a Frenchman has held the crown ever since 2004.

Waterford’s Breen, who finished in 13th place yesterday despite breaking a drive shaft on the opening stage, climbed the leaderboard again today to finish 10th overall in his Citroen DS3.
