Government must take immediate measure to create congenial atmosphere rather than vitiating it by slapping unaccounted PSAs on youth across the valley, serious efforts should be put in place to infuse sense of security among the common innocent people, who are facing tough situation due to the current unrest, besides that arrest spree must be stopped in order to win back the confidence of the people. This was stated by JKPCC Chief G.A. Mir while interacting with the various deputations in Anantnag today.During his tour to District Anantnag many deputations called on JKPCC Chief G.A. Mir and briefed him about the problems confronting them in their respective areas. The deputations apprised him about the multiple problems caused due to the deteriorating situation in the District and sought his immediate intervention to put an end to their miseries.

Mir was also briefed about the arrest spree and nocturnal raids conducted by the Forces. They also complained that they are being harassed unnecessary, as a result, they don’t feel comfortable even in their respective areas The deputation also told the Mir that there were shortage of essentials like korosne, cooking gas, sugar etc and no attention is being paid towards this issue by the Govt.PCC Chief while interacting with these deputations expressed serious concern over the arrest spree and slapping of PSAs on youth and asked the Govt to stop harassing youth, as it will further alienate the people. Rather than taking measures to create congenial atmosphere in the District, Govt is relying on nocturnal raids and arrest spree, which cannot be in the interest of peace, rather it will make the situation more complex in the valley, Mir said.

He also urged the Govt to ensure supply of essentials to people keeping in view the fast approaching winter season.PCC Chief assured the delegation that Congress Party would continue highlight the genuine issues confronting people for their resolution and will make the Govt accountable and answerable to them (People). On this occasion PCC Chief reiterated his appeal for maintaining peace and urged upon the people to help restore complete normalcy in the valley, as it was ultimate the common people, who have suffered immensely due to the deteriorating situation in valley.MLA Shangas Gulzar Ahmad Wani and General Secretary Hilal Ahmad Shah were present. Both the leaders also briefed PCC Chief about other issues confronting people in the District. (KNS)
