Deoria remains tense after clashes, 31 arrested

Deoria, Oct 16 (UNI) Tension prevailed in Lar area of this Uttar Pradesh district after clashes over statue immersion erupted since past four days.
So far, police have arrested 31 miscreants in this regard.
Sources said the way of procession for statue immersion was blocked by persons of the minority community as they were offering morning prayers. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) N K Singh asked them to reduce the volume of sound system going with Statue immersion procession. Some agitated persons started arguing with Mr Singh after that.
