Johnston Wagner is in pole position to win his first PGA Tour title since 2012 as he tops the leaderboard going into the final day of the Safeway Open.

The American is one shot clear on 15 under and things could get even better as he still has three holes of his third round to play after rain brought a premature end to the day in Napa.

Wagner has lifted himself to the top of the leaderboard with three birdies during his first 15 holes and no bogeys.

Patton Kizzire and Scott Piercy are following on 14 under, both also with their rounds to complete.

Piercy, who shot a course record 62 in the first round, is one over for his round so far, while Kizzire is five under.

England's Paul Casey and Scotland's Martin Laird are on 13 and 12 under respectively.
