The 63-year-old Mumbai resident narrowly averted a major accident when all the four men jumped out of the moving auto after stealing the cash from his bag.
New Delhi: Arjuna awardee shooter Ashok Pandit was robbed by an auto driver and three other men of Rs 2.4 lakh in cash near Ambedkar Stadium after he had boarded the three-wheeler from outside New Delhi railway station on Thursday morning.
The 63-year-old Mumbai resident narrowly averted a major accident when all the four men jumped out of the moving auto after stealing the cash from his bag.
Pandit tried to control the three-wheeler from the back seat, wove it through rush-hour traffic narrowly missing other vehicles and finally ramming a water trolley before coming to a halt. He was not injured.
Police are studying CCTV footages of the incident. Pandit told TOI that he had seen the footages at the IP Estate police station and they were hazy. No one was arrested till Saturday night.
