Sasikumar murder probe: BJP unhappy
Coimbatore: BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan said the party was not happy with the state police investigation of the Hindu Munnani spokesperson C Sasikumar's murder.
She said Sasikumar was murdered on September 22 and the police have so far just released a few images, but there was no concrete development in the case.
"Police need to explain why they haven't arrested the accused till now.
Whereas, they were swift in arresting Hindu political outfit cadres, who were not involved in any violence," Tamilisai said .
She added that the party has already taken up the issue with the BJP national leader Amit Shah. "He assured us that the Union home ministry will monitor the situation in Tamil Nadu. He even spoke of talking to the Tamil Nadu government to take appropriate action against those involved in the spate of murder of hindutva activists," she said.
The law and order situation, she said, has been at an all-time low in the state. "Now murderers have started using guns to kill. Even panchayat representatives have been being hacked to death in the past two weeks. The TN government needs to check the rise of murders related to political rivalry, in view of the forthcoming local body election." Tamilisai said.
