Principal Manju Grover, who flagged off the marathon, narrated a story about Kanakuri Shizo, known as the father of Japanese marathon, to inspire students.

The marathon started from the Assembly grounds, passed through streets of Dalanwala, covering 5 km. Both groups set new records this year.

In the junior girls category, Priyanjali Kohli, Preeti Singh and Harmeet Kaur bagged the first, second and third positions, respectively. In the junior boys category, Krish Vohat, Shaurya Vohat and Prashant Semwal secured the first, second and third positions, respectively.

In the senior girls category, Ishita Rawat, Namita Dhiman and Pallavi Sajwal stood first, second and third, respectively, while Pulkit Saxena, Yuvraj Singh and Yogesh Shrestha bagged the first, second and third places in the senior boys category. Principal Manju Grover awarded medals to the top three boy and girl runners in each category.

To keep the spirits of the participants high, members of the academic staff were present at various points along with medical kits, water bottles and energy drink pouches. An ambulance was also available.

“The marathon is a big opportunity for us to make a public statement about our school’s commitment to education,” said Director Nitin K. Grover. “This tradition allows us to show our unity and spirit while strengthening the community,” he added.
