Haryana murder convict who killed 3 after jumping parole held in Delhi

Police identified the arrested killer as Deepak Tomar and said he had a list of “18 people he planned to eliminate in the coming days”.

A Haryana murder convict who jumped parole and killed three more persons was arrested by Delhi Police from Mangolpuri area. Police identified the arrested person as Deepak Tomar (26) and said he had a list of “18 people he planned to eliminate in the coming days”.

Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch), said Tomar was arrested from near Mangolpuri railway station on October 13. “Tomar committed his first murder in Rohtak for which he was convicted in 2008. He was lodged in Gurgaon’s Bhondsi jail from where he managed to get 21-day parole in July 2014, but didn’t return,” Yadav added.

After jumping parole, Tomar joined his associates in committing a double murder in Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh in 2015, he added. They fired 21 rounds with country-made pistols to kill Jitender and Anil of Ranbir gang in his native village Ramala, said Yadav.

“In September 2015, he and his accomplices allegedly killed Sohanveer in Baba Haridas Nagar area of Delhi. The murder was a revenge killing because Sohanveer had allegedly thrashed him in Rohtak jail,” said Yadav. During questioning he revealed he was planning to commit 18 more murders and had a list of of people in his village with whom he wanted to settle scores, said police.

Tomar was living at Shiv Ram Park area in Nangloi while on the run, police added. A country-made weapon and three live cartridges were recovered from him, said police. According to sources, police requested the court where Tomar was produced to not grant him bail or parole.
