KARACHI: Former captain Javed Miandad withdrew his allegations on Saturday against former T20 captain Shahid Afridi and announced that he harbours no hard feelings for Afridi. In a meeting held between the two former cricket captains, Afridi thanked Miandad for the withdrawal of his statements. “I never demanded any apology from you as you are my senior,” said Afridi while addressing Miandad. “You withdrawing the allegations against me is a big deal for me and my fans,” Afridi added. Earlier, Javed Miandad said that Afridi’s remarks disappointed him deeply but he had forgiven him as he is senior and mentored Afridi for years. Miandad also wished former T20 captain with all the luck and prayers. On the other hand, Wasim Akram took to Twitter and posted that it’s really hurting what is going on between two legends. He said that both players had contributed a lot to the cricket of Pakistan. Akram also demanded an appropriate mediation to resolve the matter as soon as possible. Further, Shahid Afridi decided to send a legal notice to Javed Miandad over baseless match fixing allegations. During a press conference in Karachi, a reporter asked Afridi, “Javed Miandad said that you wanted farewell game only for money”. To this Afridi replied that “money has always been an issue for Javed Miandad”. Later, Afridi took to social media and tweeted that he regrets what he said but Miandad made personal attacks on Afridi and he was tolerating for a long time. He said that it was compulsory for him to show reaction after Miandad‘s remarks on TV. Furiously responding to Afridi’s statement, Miandad termed his junior as match fixer and said he sold entire Pakistani team for money.“If I had any money related issues, I wouldn’t have left the team, but I did,” said Miandad.
