J&K: Prepaid mobile services restored in the Valley

Pre-paid mobile services, which were suspended due to security reasons after widespread protests following the killing of Hizbul Mujahiddin commander Burhan Wani on July 8 by the security forces in South Kashmir, got restored across Kashmir today after 98 days.

However, mobile internet services continued to remain suspended. The move comes in the backdrop of growing public pressure to restore connectivity in Kashmir valley as many families remain cut-off from each other. Post-paid mobile services still remain suspended.

All mobile telephone services, except BSNL, were suspended after violent protests over killing of Hizbul Mujahiddin commander Burhan Wani spread across the Valley.
