All-rounder Kieron Pollard and wicketkeeper-batsman Denesh Ramdin have been axed from West Indies' One-Day International (ODI) squad for the upcoming tri-series in Zimbabwe, that also involves Sri Lanka. Shai Hope and Rovman Powell come in as replacements and are the only two changes from the squad that recently lost 3-0 to Pakistan in the UAE. Both will be in line for an ODI debut if they make it to the starting XI.

Since his half-century against Pakistan in Christchurch in the 2015 World Cup, Ramdin has managed just one score in excess of 50 (91 against Australia in Bridgetown) in ODIs. He scored just 79 runs in three ODIs against Pakistan in UAE and has made way for the uncapped Hope, who has featured in six Tests for West Indies.

Pollard, too, struggled for runs in UAE, scoring 42 in three innings. His replacement Powell is also uncapped, but was previously part of the T20I squad following a successful campaign in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Zimbabwe host Sri Lanka in the tri-series opener on November 14, with West Indies facing the Asian side in their first game on November 16.

West Indies squad: Jason Holder (c), Sulieman Benn, Carlos Brathwaite, Kraigg Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Jonathan Carter, Johnson Charles, Shannon Gabriel, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Evin Lewis, Sunil Narine, Ashley Nurse, Rovman Powell, Marlon Samuels
