Three pistols missing from ITBP armory, probe ordered

In a shocking incident, three pistols went missing from the armory of an Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) base camp in Bhojtola in Rajnandgaon district, which is an extremely sensitive Maoist area.

BILASPUR: In a shocking incident, three pistols went missing from the armory of an Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) base camp in Bhojtola in Rajnandgaon district, which is an extremely sensitive Maoist area. Later the pistols were found outside the camp during a search. ITBP officers are probing the incident.
According to information the three missing pistols were found in an abandoned state at some distance from an outpost of the base camp.
In the meanwhile, officials responsible for armory have taken the matter seriously and are probing the incident.
Sources said that the 28th company of ITBP is posted at Bhojtola. The said company was moving to some other place. Before the movement, while officers of the company were taking stock of their arms and ammunition they found that three pistols were missing. A report was lodged at nearby Mohla police station in this connection, however a search was immediately launched and the missing pistols were found .
