Nabbed ISI agent was working for India till 2014

AHMEDABAD: On of the two alleged ISI agents arrested by Gujarat ATS was earlier working for an Indian intelligence agency , revealed an ATS source on Friday .According to the source, Sakur Sumra, who was nabbed from Kukma village near Bhuj in Kutch, used to work for the Indian intelligence agency before 2014. He was later lured into spying for Pakistan's ISI by Mohammed Alana in 2014 and since then, Sumra used to gather sensitive military information for the ISI.
A senior ATS official said that even as several central agencies, including the Military Intelligence, are questioning both the alleged ISI agents, it has come to notice that he was lured with a honeytrap Razia Tamachi of Tharparkar district of Pakistan.Mohammed Alana was trained by ISI handler Master Ashraf to identify different defence symbols.
“Just after Uri attack and subsequent surgical strikes by the Indian Army in POK, Alana and Sumra had called up Razia in Pakistan twice to provide vital information on the Army's movement in border areas of Kutch. The two were to visit Pakistan shortly . We have sent the cellphone and the audio clips recovered from the phone to the FSL for forensic examination,“ the official added.
ATS officials said that arrest of the duo is very critical for them as Razia, her brother Aslam, and ISI handler Master Ashraf are resi dents of Tharparkar district of Pakistan, which is next to Kutch district of India.
“Mastermind of Mumbai terror attack and chief of terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba Hafiz Saeed has a strong network in Tharparkar district and intelligence reports indicate that he is a frequent visitor of the area,“ an ATS official added.
Mohammad Alana (38) is handicapped in the left hand since birth.“He is a native of Zuna village in Kutch and after the 2001 earthquake, his father Mohammed Hamir had shifted to Kukma. Hamir's father had migrated to Pakistan since partition in 1947 and since then had not interacted with Hamir's family .Suddenly one day in 2014, Hamir's father invites Alana for a wedding ceremony in his family in Pakistan, which suggests that the honeytrap -Razia (17) -was set up for him,“ added a senior ATS official.ATS sources said they also have information about Razia's brother Aslam, a resident of Tharparkar in Pakistan, of having strong links with the ISI.
