HUBBALLI: Following reports of a party at Navanagar police station, police commissioner Pandurang Rane has ordered an inquiry by the DCP into the case.
There were allegations that a party was organised by CPI SR Nay ak and his team in the police station on Thursday night where liquor and non-vegetarian food were served. Some TV channels had telecast video footages of the party, recorded with a hidden camera.

Reacting to the issue, commissioner Pandurang Rane said, "It is a routine practice. Twice or thrice in a year respective police stations organize a get-together of policemen. Thursday's party was held to celebrate the success of the police department in ensuring peaceful celebration of Ganesha festival, Moharrum and Dasara."
He also claimed no liquor was served at the party. "The inspector does not consume liquor. During the get-together, area corporators visited the police station for some personal work. They, too, were offered food," he added.
Despite this, the DCP (law and order) has been told to conduct a detailed inquiry and submit the report in three days, Rane said.
