Actor Vinay Rajkumar has been busy travelling with his uncle Puneeth to promote ‘Doddmane Hudga’. The film also happens to be special because it is Puneeth’s 25th film and Vinay says that he was overwhelmed with the love and appreciation showered on them by people.

“We didn’t expect that so many people would gather at once. The movie has become a hit and Puneeth thought it was time to set out and thank his fans for all their support,” shares Vinay.

Vinay’s earlier works such as ‘Siddhartha’ and ‘Run Anthony’ did well for their different content and excellent presentation. Now, Vinay says he doesn’t want to rush into signing too many projects but prefers to wait for the right one. “I am listening to a few scripts and have liked some of them but I would still insist on waiting till I am impressed with the script. I am looking at working on an action-oriented project,” says Vinay.

The actor has been busy sharpening his skills in dancing and is presently undergoing training in martial arts too. “This is all part of the preparation for an action-oriented project. I use the time I get in between signing projects to learn new things. This not only keeps me updated with the latest in the market but also helps me build my skills,” he says.

He also makes it a point to watch as many movies of different genres as possible. “I watch all kinds of movies in all languages because this will not only give me an insight into different styles of filmmaking but will also help me understand the process involved,” he adds.

Vinay’s brother Guru, who is four years younger to him, has been assisting him on the production side and Vinay says that he and Guru share an excellent equation when it comes to deciding on how a project should move forward. “Guru has been my best critic. He says exactly what he has in mind and doesn’t say something just to make me feel good. He doesn’t like mincing words,” says Vinay.

The actor believes that criticism makes one stronger and helps one move in the right direction. “I appreciate constructive criticism because it helps me improve. It’s nice to be open to both good and bad feedback,” he adds.

The actor will soon finalise a project but he says that he is in no hurry because he prefers to only take up work that makes him happy.

“I find happiness in doing something that I enjoy and not in doing something just
because I have to do it. The two are different,” reasons Vinay.
