MLA Rafiabad, Yawar Mir today met Minister of State for Forests, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Cooperatives, Zahoor Ahmad Mir, here today where ways of exploiting vast pisciculture potential of North Kashmir was discussed.It was decided that a draft Project report has already been prepared in this regard. The Minister said that all the available modern technology and innovations would be put in place to exploit the pisciculture potential of North Kashmir to the benefit of locals as well as the State.During the meeting, the MLA apprised the Minister that adequate land for the proposed Fish Market at Doabgah Rafiabad is available and added that proposed site lies on the banks of river Jhelum which provides a vast scope for commercial exploitation of fisheries in the area.The Minister informed the MLA that Government has decided to promote fish farming in a big way given its high scope of employability among youth.
