Amit Tandon in Manish R Goswami's 'Dil Deke Dekho'!

Popular actor Amit Tandon, who has done shows like 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', 'Kaisa Yeh Pyar', 'Dil Mil Gaye' and 'Indian Idol', will be seen next in the funny new show 'Dil Deke Dekho' on SAB. When called, Amit confirmed the development and says, “Yes, I am doing 'Dil Deke Dekho'. I chose to do it because it is written amazingly by Raghubir Shikhawat.”
Talking about his character, Amit reveals, “I play this over the top Punjabi guy, but it’s not a cliched character.My role has quite a few dimensions to it. And, having worked with Sab TV before, I enjoy working in this light-hearted, comical space.” In fact, a lot of people don’t know that Amit is a bit of a prankster himself, “I have a comical side to me. Those close to me know me as a joker and prankster. Although for most of my career I have played positive, negative and grey shaded characters, I think people will like my comical, romantic side too,” the actor revealed.
One thing however that Amit is excited about is working alongside veteran TV actors like Navneet Nishan and Kanwaljit Singh, “I am a huge 'Satte Pe Satta' fan, so meeting Kamaljeet was very cool. I look forward to working with both of them, as I’m sure there will loads to learn,” he says.
Finally, we couldn’t resist asking, but who is Amit’s favourite comedian? “I love Russel Peters. His way of doing comedy is very natural and I always laugh a lot when I hear see him perform!" On being asked about working with Manish R Goswami he says, " So far so good. Being a fellow Punjabi there is always a closeness that one feels. Producers and actors are usually always at ends but I think we have hit it off just fine and will maintain that". We hope that the show is a success, and that we get to see your funny side on the screen.
