Police Friday recovered the bodies of a truck driver and a cleaner from Panselwa Chowk in Bihar’s East Champaran district.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Mundrika Prasad said that some unidentified persons killed the truck driver and the cleaner late Thursday night with a rod on Kesaria-Khajuria state highway of the district.
The deceased have been identified as Mohan Rai (50), the driver and Nagendra Kumar (20), the cleaner, Dy SP said adding that both were residents of Maner area of Patna district.
The bodies have been sent to Motihari Sadar hospital for post-mortem, he added.
The truck owner told the police that Rs 20,000 had been stolen from the duo, the Dy SP said adding that prima facie it seemed that the incident may be the result of old enmity.
Police are investigating the matter, he said.
