With over ten movies to her credit down South, Payal Ghosh isn't exactly new to the film industry 'the reason she could effortlessly pull off a solo garba song, in her Bollywood debut 'Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi', along with 10,000 garba players. The film, a family comedy by Sanjay Chhel, will see her play a middle-class Gujarati girl.
Payal says, 'The song looks lively because it is not a regular, choreographed track.
Ganesh Acharya gave us natural steps that we practised only for a day. What makes this song special is that it was shot during an actual garba programme. It was hectic, but when you love your work, you don't feel the effort. We had a lot of fun while shooting this number.'
This traditional song by Shaan, Neha Kakkar and folk singer Sangita Lambada has been composed by Uttank Vora. Sanjay says, 'We shot with multiple cameras and there was unbelievable energy all around the ground. The moment the cameras rolled, Payal, who is a Bengali, transformed in to a Gujju girl-next-door.'
