The broadcasters have commissioned a comedy series from Mike Clattenburg and Laura Michalchyshyn's Rabbit Square Productions.

The CBC and Comedy Central in the U.S. have commissioned Crawford, a new series from Mike Clattenburg and Laura Michalchyshyn’s Rabbit Square Productions.

The comedy (13 x 30 minutes) was co-created by Clattenburg (Trailer Park Boys) and Mike O’Neill (Trailer Park Boys: Don’t Legalize It) and is executive produced by Michalychyshyn (Slings and Arrows). Production is set to begin in Toronto next year.

Crawford, which is billed as an “unconventional family comedy,” follows a young man who moves back in with his parents and turns his compassion for raccoons into a successful business.

Halifax-based Rabbit Square Productions will produce the series. Janice Dawe (Remedy) and Kathy Avrich-Johnson (Saving Hope) will also produce for Toronto’s Bizable Media. Content Media will handle international distribution for the series.

The series deal was negotiated by Maggie Pisacane of Frankfurt, Kurnit, Klein and Selz and Bizable Media.
