Struggling actor detained for theft at small-time actor's Versova flat
MUMBAI: The Versova police has detained a 21-year-old struggling actor on suspicion that he has stolen gold ornaments and cash a total sum of Rs92,000 from a small-time actor’s flat. Police detained Narendra Tak suspecting his hand in the theft as he stayed at Vikas Shrivastav’s flat when he was in Dehradun for a week. At the time of going to press the police did not arrest Tak and police were questioning him.
The theft was noticed when Shrivastav returned back on October 6 and found out the valuables missing from his cupboard.
In the complaint Shrivastav said, “I left for Dehradun on September 30 leaving behind the aspiring actor in his flat. On October 6, I returned back and the next day I checked the cupboard to find gold ornaments and other valuables worth missing. His neighbour informed that Tak who stayed with him left for Jodhpur saying one of his relatives had died.”
Raising suspicion on Tak, Shrivastav lodged a complaint. Shrivastav has taken to social media about Tak’s act and the police action. “I allowed Tak to stay with me because I too struggled in the beginning of my career. So I knew the hardship so I allowed Tak to stay as paying guest in my house,” Shrivastav mentioned in the complaint.
Investigators said Shrivastav complained that Tak has previously involved in thefts on two occasions in the past.
Vikas Shrivastav, who filed the FIR, is known for his work on Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010), Special 26 (2013) and Talaash (2012).
