Leading global biz schools converge at IIM-A, discusss inclusive growth

In a first, the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) hosted the 43rd annual conference for the Partnership in International Management (PIM)- a consortium of leading international business schools at the Ahmedabad campus this week.

Around 90 participants representing 50 countries took part in the conference which was held in India for the first time in its 43 year old history between October 10-12. IIMA has been its member since 1998.

While institutes like IIMA, IIM-Bangalore and the Indian School of Business-Hyderabad (ISB) are members of PIM, the entity facilitates the development of international cooperation among members, fostering the development of joint programs, students and faculty exchange, joint research and cooperation among faculty members and researchers.

The conference whose theme was ‘Inclusive Growth and Management Education’ was formally inaugurated by the IIMA Director Ashish Nanda and the 3 days witnessed several parallel, plenary and panel discussions on topics like management education in Asia, crisis management, sharing successful experiences with international immersions, inclusive growth in sustainability and financial Inclusion, inclusive growth in management education, India’s competitive position in the global economy.

Sessions including sharing of the experiences of exchange council of IIMA and ‘market place’ where the partners met and discussed about the problems/ new decisions about their relationship and future proposals took place.

Other governance issues discussed at the conference included the admission of new member schools and the future strategy of PIM for the coming year cited a release from IIMA on Thursday.
