With the Bigg Boss season 10 all set to start, it’s time we look at the past winners and incidents which invited curiosity among the masses.
While the host Salman Khan remains the same, a ‘The Indian Express’ report has said that the format has changed to some extend. This time, it has also opened the gate for commoners as well. There will be half the celebrities and half common people this time around.
Below is the quick glimpse of the past nine seasons:
Season 1
Winner of the show: Rahul Roy
Well-known participants: Ravi Kishan, Carol Gracias, Rakhi Sawant,Baba Sehgal, Amit Sadh, Anupama Verma, Kashmira Shah, Bobby Darling and Deepak Tijori.
The show is remembered for: Rakhi Sawant’s constant entering into fights with Kashmira Shah with both competing as to who would add more glamour to the show. Rakhi even had fight with Amit Sadh over a mug.
Season 2
Winner of the show: Ashutosh Kaushik
Well-known participants: Diana Hayden, Monica Bedi, Jade Goody, Payal Rohatgi,Raja Choudhary, Sambhavana Seth, Zulfi Syed and Rahul Mahajan.
The show is remembered for: Love triangle between Payal-Rahul-Monica. And who can forget the swimming pool episode? Also the chemistry between Raja and Sambhavana, who allegedly even kissed during the show.
Season 3
Winner of the show: Vindu Dara Singh
Well-known participants: Shamita Shetty, KRK,Tanaaz, Bakhtiyaar Irani, Sherlyn Chopra, Rohit Verma, Poonam Dhillon, Claudia Ciesla, Pravesh Rana and Raju Srivastav, .
The show is remembered for: KRK threw a bottle at Rohit. He was later thrown out of the house due to violence. He soon returned as a changed man full of apologies.
Season 4
Winner of the show: Shweta Tiwari
Well-known participants: Veena Malik, Ashmit Patel, Dolly Bindra, Manoj Tiwari, Aanchal Kumar, Sara Khan, Samir Soni, Rahul Bhatt, along with Pamela Anderson and Khali as guests.
The show is remembered for: Messages between Ashmit and Veena. Also Sara Khan’s made-up wedding to Ali Merchant. One can’t also forget Dolly Bindra, and her brawl with Manoj Tiwari over a few eggs
Season 5
Winner of the show: Juhi Parmar
Well-known participants: Pooja Misrra, Sunny Leone, Pooja Bedi, Shakti Kapoor, Mahek Chahal, Akashdeep Saigal, Siddharth Bhardwaj and Raageshwari.
The show is remembered for: Pooja Missra picking up fights with housemates. When she slammed a door on the face of Sidharth, things went out of control. Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt went inside the house and offering Sunny her debut film Jism 2.
Season 6
Winner of the show: Urvashi Dholakia
Well-known participants: Imam Siddique, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Delnaaz Irani, Sapna Bhavnani, Rajiv Paul, Aashka Goradia, Sana Khan and Sayantani Ghosh.
The show is remembered for: Imam Siddique’s infamous face-off with Urvashi. He wore a body suit after one particular fight and even claimed that Salman owed him money. And also Sapna’s remark that Salman was a ‘serial woman-beater’.
Season 7
Winner of the show: Gauahar Khan
Well-known participants: Tanisha Mukherjee, Kushal Tandon, VJ Andy, Armaan Kohli, Kamya Punjabi, Sangram Singh, Pratyusha Banerjee, , Elli Avram, Sofia Hayat,Hazel Keech and Ajaz Khan.
The show is remembered for: Kushal-Gauahar’s blossoming romance. And so was Armaan-Tanisha’s. Kushal’s fight with Andy which lead to his eviction. Accidentally Armaan hitting Sofia and Sofia filing a police complaint against him outside the house.
Season 8
Winner of the show: Gautam Gulati
Well-known participants: Upen Patel, Karishma Tanna, Arya Babbar, Diandra Soares, Puneet Issar, Minissha Lamba, Ali Quli Mirza, Sushant Divgikar and Dimpy Ganguli .
The show is remembered for: Diandra and Gautam under intimacy and the former allegedly getting pregnant during the show Another romance between Karishma and Upen, which couldn’t sustain for long outside the house.
Season 9
Winner of the show: Prince Narula
Well-known participants: Kishwer Merchant, Rimi Sen, Mandana Karimi, Suyyash Rai, Aman Verma, Rochelle Rao, Yuvika Chaudhary, Keith Sequeira, Rishabh Sinha,Nora Fatehi and Priya Malik.
Two major romances — Suyyash-Kishwer and Keith-Rochelle. Prince tried to woo Yuvika and after her eviction, his love story with Nora. Also Rishabh’s fierce challenges to Prince.
