Pulimurugan box office collections: Mohanlal’s latest action thriller, which celebrates ‘man versus tiger’ war as its core theme, is being reported as the fastest Malayalam film to cross the Rs 20 crore mark. In fact, Pulimurugan had emerged as the highest grosser in Malayalam industry, clocking Rs 4.08 crore on its opening day. The film was rocking at the box office during the opening weekend, clocking Rs 10 crore and by Day 5, Pulimurugan collection had crossed the Rs 20 crore mark in Kerala.

1. While shooting the climax scene of Pulimurugan, Mohanlal was suffering from high fever and yet he did the diving scene. He worked on delivering the climax scene, which required eight takes. When the director apologized for this, Mohanlal’s reply was: “Perfection is a must in every scene. We have to give every scene our very best. We cannot disappoint fans.”

2. All actors and technicians including superstar Mohanlal were willing to take significant cuts in their fee for Pulimurugan.
3. To reduce the costs of the making of the film, the artists did not hesitate to cut down on most ”luxury” expenses while shooting in the forest.
