Experience the world of Cockney Lizz, Stafford Parker and the rest of the canteen set of old Barberton during the Gold Rush of the 1880’s. Meet at the Barberton Museum at 10:00 on 12 November 2016 for an informative talk on all the old and infamous pubs and canteens along the transport routes and in Barberton during the boom years of The Kaap Valley. 

The crawl will run past some of the oldest pubs in South Africa including the Don at the Phoenix, the Barberton Moth Shell Hole, the Barberton Club ending at the Diggers Retreat at Noordkaap for a classic mid- afternoon diggers sit down lunch of English Victorian fare typical of the time.

Costs are R100.00 per person for lunch payable at the hotel as well as own drinks along the way.

Wear some dress, hat or accessory reminiscent of the period and be sure to appoint a designated driver.
